February 6th Twenty12
What a great start to the new season with around 45 riders
turning up. ( and we had about 10 regulars missing.)
Not a good start though for Nicky Kinross who broke her
elbow in the first race whilst trying to nudge Trent Forester out of the way. The race had to be restarted 5
times as they could not get passed the first corner.
It was also great to see Angus Freeman back on the saddle
and boy is he flying!!!
The Club celebrates its 54th birthday on Sunday
Feb 26th. As it falls on a Sunday we will have a
birthday cake at the Riders Meeting to celebrate the occasion. 54
years and the club operates exactly the same as it did in those early years.
We will be looking for volunteers soon to erect the new
verandah in front of the Judges Box.
We have one more Bunnings BBQ on Sat Feb 18th
and Tammy is organising volunteers…..The money (along with Grants) will be paying to renovate the whole kitchen
which is costing around $14,000-00.
There are 2 Open Championships coming up in March¨ The
Bill Rufus Memorial at LeFevre and the Annual Memorial at Findon.
Annual Subs are now due: $15 per member or $30 for the
whole family and this must be paid by State Championship nomination closing date which is the end of
April.
Congratulations to Cori Simpson winning the Senior Rider
of the Week and to Cooper Dawson who won the Junior Rider of the Week.
The ‘ Rider Win’ Prizes are back and hopefully we will
have a RC helicopter and MP4 player available for this Sunday.
Don’t forget all the ‘Rider Win ‘ tickets go into a special draw at trophy presentation night for an extra
special prize. (last year it was a Nintendo 3DS).
I will be organising a night out for those riders who
raised $50 in last years 6 hour marathon….it looks like it’s back to the Ice Arena.
Make sure you buy our Car Sticker on Sunday as it’s only
$2-50 per sticker and it advertises our club.
See you on Sunday
Cheers

Feb 1st 2012
Hi everyone
I hope everyone is itching to get back into racing again
as it starts this Sunday at 1pm.
I hope I have everyone in their right grade but if not we
can easily change it around.
Many thanks to those who helped out on the Bunnings BBQ’s,
especially to Cori and Tammy who have had to do the ‘little extra’ in organising etc.
There are 2 Open Championships coming up in March and nom
forms are now available.
We still owe ‘a night out’ for those who raised over $50
in last years 6 hour marathon….any ideas where to go or is it back to the Ice Arena.
We will be looking for volunteers to put up the new
verandah soon.
See you on Sunday

Dec 19th 2011
Hi all
Well, that’s it for another year and what a year it’s been. The Comets won Division 4
League and the Interclub Shield and the Sabres regained the Little League Premiership.
Congratulations to Nicky Kinross on winning the Harley Medal and to Matt Bryant on winning the
Bert Hill Medal.
Congrats to Matt Bryant and Matt Forester who jointly won the Rider of the
Year.
Once again I would like to thank all the volunteers who have worked hard for the club to help
make it the success story that it is.
Many thanks to those who have volunteered to look after the Bunnings BBQ on Sat Jan
14th and 28th. If you cannot make it please let us know so that we can try and
get someone to cover your shift. The 2 days should give us at least $3000 profit.
To those members who raised over $50 in the 6 hour marathon I will organise an outing early in
the new year. Sorry for forgetting to organise this.
The Committee wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year and we will see
you on the first Sunday in February (Feb 5th)
Cheers

Dec 11th 2011
Hi all
As expected there were a few missing today as the Points have finished, BUT, we
had a cracker of a 20inch Best Pairs Championship where the young ones showed off their Team Riding
abilities. It was the pairing of Matt Bryant and Braylan MacDonald
that took out the title with brilliant team riding by the experienced Matt Bryant but it was the much younger
Braylan MacDonald (Div7) whose quick thinking to take advantage of
the openings created by Matt that shone out. Final
results: Matt Bryant & Braylan MacDonald 27 Jack Swansson &
Blade Blatchford 21 and Karah Schultz & Bailey Swansson 18.
It was great to see Ross Priest back on the saddle, and, to what we hear he
will be racing next year. This will make our Comets Div 1 team very
competitive in the Leagues.
This Friday is our Annual Trophy Presentation Night starting at
7-30pm. Please be on time as we will be presenting trophies early
in the evening. NO BIKES PLEASE. We will also be re-taking the Interclub Team Photo and the Division 4 League
photo.
Next Sunday is the last race meeting for this year and it is the Christmas
Championship which starts at the normal time of 1pm. The Annual
water Bomb fight is straight after the championship so bring along some dry clothes and a towel. Please buy your own Water Bomb Balloons and fill them up at home so that you
are ready to fight. You can also bring your supa doopa water
cannons (or whatever!). All the rules will be explained at the
Riders Meeting.
We will erecting the new Verandah in front of the Judges Box during the break
and also re-laying the track corners. We will need help and will
send out an email when the dates are set.
See you Sunday
Mick
December 5th
Hi all
Another great weekend with a great roll up to the Christmas Picnic on Saturday.
Father Christmas arriving on a Fire Engine and some getting in early for the water bomb fight.
Sunday was another great roll up and it was the last day of Points, and boy,
are the points close in most grades. In one grade we have 2 riders
finishing first with the same amount of points, 2 riders tied for Rider of the Year with another 3 riders only 2
points behind them!!!
The Team Premiership Shield was won by a very, very narrow margin. All will be revealed at the Annual Trophy
Presentation night on Friday Dec 16th.
We also gave away all the prizes on the top shelf for the Rider win prizes and
the Nintendo 3DS (plus a game) will be won by someone on Trophy Night.
This Sunday is a fun race meeting with plenty of prizes to be won....Riders can
wear any racing top for the last 2 meetings. We will also hand out
the water bomb balloons on Sunday so that you can fill them up at home all ready for the water bomb fight on Dec
18th.
Cheers
